Quality Control Inspector
As a Quality Control Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our products we manufacture.
Your main duties will include carrying out the following activities on Machined and Fabricated components to ensure compliance to customer requirement / standards and Sumac’s own internal working procedures:

The successful candidate will possess the following (however training may be considered for the right candidate):
• Experience using hand-held measuring equipment such as Micrometres, Vernier’s, Height Gauges, Comparators, Thread Gauges, etc.
• Demonstrable understanding of Quality Assurance.
• Working knowledge of tolerances.
• Able to write up reports.
• Competent use of PC and essential software.
• An excellent understanding (and experience) of engineering.
• Strong team player with a keen eye for detail.
• Positive attitude and ability to work calmly under pressure.
Desirable:
• An understanding of First Article Inspection requirements, with knowledge of AS9102.
• Prior experience of, precision mechanical manufacture, and mechanical manufacturing. techniques including machining and welding would be an advantage.
• Experience in calibration of measuring equipment.
• Programming and using CMM’s (PC DIMS).
• Programming and using Keyence Measuring Machines.
• Programming and using Faro Arms (Power Inspect).

Quality Assurance Engineer
We are seeking a full-time Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team at our Weymouth location. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will support the team to ensure all quality standards and procedures meet legislative requirements, standards, and customer specifications, whilst also supporting key projects in working to reduce cost of poor quality, and continuous improvement. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong technical experience, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Duties:
• You will support the Compliance Manager with continuous improvement activities to reduce the cost of poor quality, and investigate issues raised by the shop floor ensuring a clear root cause has been identified and effective corrective actions are implemented by using effective problem-solving tools such as 8D, DMAIC, Ishikawa and 5 Whys
• Create and manage customer documentation packs
• Support the department in the on-going upkeep and maintenance of the integrated management system to maintain compliance with ISO9001 & support the development of ISO14001, ISO45001 & ISO3834
• Conduct internal audits in accordance with the internal audit plan, this would include creating audit reports, raising corrective action reports for any non-conformities, and following actions to verification and closure.
• Support the team during customer and regulatory audits and assessments, supplier audit plans, and raise change notes if required.
• Liaise and support the customer services team regarding customer complaints and raising corrective action reports if required .
