Sales, Planning and Estimating Engineers

Skilled Machinists
Due to an increased long-term order book, we are currently recruiting for Fully Skilled CNC Millers, preferably with Heidenhain or Fanuc experience, to programme, set and operate various machining centres. Also Fully Skilled CNC Turners, preferably with Fanuc experience. Excellent rates of pay for the right candidates.

Apprentices
A four-year Apprenticeship program (dependent on age) which includes the development of new skills and the gaining of recognised qualifications. This role may be either:
All aspects of machining operations, both manual and CNC machines, and fitting and assembly skills.
Or:
All aspects of Fabrication & Welding and fitting and assembly skills.

Quality Control Inspector
As a Quality Control Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our products we manufacture.
Your main duties will include carrying out the following activities on Machined and Fabricated components to ensure compliance to customer requirement / standards and Sumac’s own internal working procedures:

• First Off Inspection
• In Process / Roaming Inspection
• Pre-& Post Treatment Inspection
• Goods In Inspection
• Final Inspection
• Producing FAIR’s (First Article Inspection Reports).
The successful candidate will possess the following (however training may be considered for the right candidate):
• Experience using hand-held measuring equipment such as Micrometres, Vernier’s, Height Gauges, Comparators, Thread Gauges, etc.
• Demonstrable understanding of Quality Assurance.
• Working knowledge of tolerances.
• Able to write up reports.
• Competent use of PC and essential software.
• An excellent understanding (and experience) of engineering.
• Strong team player with a keen eye for detail.
• Positive attitude and ability to work calmly under pressure.
Desirable:
• An understanding of First Article Inspection requirements, with knowledge of AS9102.
• Prior experience of, precision mechanical manufacture, and mechanical manufacturing. techniques including machining and welding would be an advantage.
• Experience in calibration of measuring equipment.
• Programming and using CMM’s (PC DIMS).
• Programming and using Keyence Measuring Machines.
• Programming and using Faro Arms (Power Inspect).
Minimum of 39 hours per week. Core working hours are 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Thursday and 8 am to 1 pm Friday
