At Sumac Precision Engineering, we deliver a full range of welding, fabrication, and laser profiling services, from commercial projects to high-specification precision work for aerospace and defence sectors. Our team combines advanced equipment with skilled expertise, ensuring every project is handled with care, accuracy, and attention to quality.
Welding
We provide TIG, MIG, and stud welding across a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials, including stainless steel, aluminium, and titanium.
Once work is completed in accordance with drawing-specific weld maps and customer contract requirements, we carry out weld inspections, with full traceability of materials and welding consumables maintained as required, in line with European and ASME standards.
Where specified, we can provide:
- Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS BS EN ISO 15609-1)
- Weld Procedure Qualification Records (WPQR BS EN ISO 15614)
- Welder qualifications and certifications (BS EN ISO 9606)
- Dedicated quality packs, including weld maps, weld logs, material and consumable certification, and inspection documentation (BS EN ISO 3834)
The integrity of our welding processes is backed by our Welding Management System, certified to BS EN ISO 3834, giving customers confidence that we can meet both standard and critical quality requirements.
Fabrication
Our fabrication services range from folding, forming, and rolling to the assembly of complex fabrications. We combine these capabilities with our machining and welding expertise to deliver custom-built components and assemblies that meet both commercial and high-specification requirements.
Each project is supported by tailored quality control and inspection, ensuring all fabricated parts conform to customer and industry standards.
We’d had a few issues with our previous provider and so to put our faith in Sumac for a recent and large fabrication project was one of the best decisions we have ever made. The lines of communication were fluid and quality of work was exemplary.
Laser Profiling
We offer high-precision laser profiling to support standalone components or integrated fabrication projects.
- Our profiling process delivers accurate and repeatable cuts, reducing the need for downstream machining.
- We handle small prototype runs through to full-scale production with consistent quality and tight tolerances.
- All laser-cut parts are deburred and finished, ready for welding or final assembly.
